Along with this core group of primary hospitals and medical centers, Exton Region residents have access to many specialty hospitals/centers. These specialty hospitals focus on surgery, physical rehabilitation, psychiatric and mental illness, and drug and alcohol treatment
Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville has been taking care of families for more than 100 years. A team of excellent physicians, advanced medical technology, and updated facilities provide exceptional healthcare. Educational programs and support groups are available for a variety of medical conditions including cancer, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis.
Chester County Hospital and Health System in West Chester is a provider of a full range of health care services including a 220 bed not-for-profit acute care hospital, home care and many ancillary services. It offers an array of inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services including oncology, comprehensive maternal/infant and women’s health services and radiology. Its centers of excellence include The Cancer Program, The CardioVascular Center and The Orthopedic Center. Many of the services found at the main campus in West Chester can also be found at satellite locations in Exton, Downingtown, Kennett Square and its newest location in West Grove.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) at the Chester County Hospital offers inpatient, consultative and emergency care to children in Chester County. The inpatient pediatricians provide round-the-clock medical care to patients referred by their primary pediatrician or family practitioner. The 18-bed unit also has a two bed, intensive care unit to better meet the critical care needs of its patients. The CHOP Pediatric & Adolescent Specialty Care Center in Exton offers a wide range of pediatric outpatient specialty medical and surgical services and ancillary testing to families in Chester County and beyond.

- Paoli Hospital in Paoli is a 214-bed, nationally award-winning hospital, which also serves as the county’s only trauma center. It features all private rooms, an advanced Emergency Department, and comprehensive cardiac. Orthopedic and oncology services. The Cancer Center at Paoli is a Partner of the respected Fox Chase Cancer Center, and Paoli’s hip and knee replacement program earned the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission. More than 2,000 babies are born each year in Paoli’s family-centered maternity unit.
- Main Line Health Center in Exton brings together many of the physicians, resources and services of Paoli Hospital all under one comprehensive roof. Its modern facility includes physician and specialty practices, imaging services, clinical labs, and physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as wellness/prevention programs.
- Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern is the largest rehabilitation services organization in the mid-Atlantic region, providing physical, occupational and speech therapy services. Programs are offered for individuals with conditions such as brain injury, stroke, orthopedic injuries, spinal cord disorders, multiple sclerosis, amputations, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease and chronic pain. Bryn Mawr also offers specialized services in aquatic therapy, adapted driving programs, work hardening and vestibular (balance) rehabilitation program.
