Uwchlan Ambulance Corps Announces New Chief of Operations

(Exton, PA) —Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (UAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tammy Whiteman as Chief of Operations of the Corps.  UAC is a non-profit agency committed to protecting the health of families and communities in Chester County through live-saving emergency medical services, professional training, and public education.

Ms. Whiteman most recently served as the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Coordinator at the Chester County Department of Emergency Services.  She has been an Emergency Medical provider in Chester County for 15 years, working in the field and in leadership positions in multiple Chester County EMS organizations.

Whiteman received her Paramedic Certification in 2001 from Good Fellowship Ambulance Training Institute.  In 2017 she was named the PA Department of Health-PA Emergency Health Service Council ALS Provider of the Year and received the Chester County EMS Council’s Presidents Award.  These honors were in recognition of her exemplary work in community education and outreach throughout Chester County.

Uwchlan Ambulance Corps Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (UAC) was founded in 1974 by volunteers as a nonprofit corporation. UAC’s service area covers eight townships providing lifesaving emergency care to over 65,000 residents with five ambulances, three responder units and highly trained Paramedics and EMTs who respond to over 3,000 emergency calls 24 hours a day. As part of a Statewide EMS Strike Team, we have responded to disasters in Louisiana, New Jersey, and several counties in Pennsylvania.

UAC is a leading training institute in our region and is an approved American Red Cross Training Site, ASHI Training Site, Pennsylvania Department of Health Continuing Education and BLS Certification Institute.  Active in the community, UAC offers many educational opportunities, including programs for youth age 14-18, many of which go on to pursue careers in the healthcare field. We welcome the opportunity to assist community organizations such as scouts and schools and teach all ages First Aid and CPR.
