Exton, PA: On Tuesday, January 3,2017, the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce hosted the Annual Review and Award luncheon sponsored by USI Affinity at the Downingtown Country Club. With 90 people in attendance, ERCC President Laurie Kerkering outlined the successes in 2016 which included an increase of 88 members resulting in a cumulative increase of members that has not been seen since mid-2012. Kerkering reminded the audience that while new members are important to the continued success and viability of the chamber, the need for sustained growth requires the Chamber to provide value and benefits to the members. Due to the time and energy of the Board of Directors and the various councils and committees, the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce is committed to achieving that and have a lot in store for 2017.
Laurie presented the President’s award to Russell J. Campbell, RJC Capital, LLC for his service and dedication that has made a significant impact toward advancing the goals and objectives of the chamber.
Outgoing Chairman of the Board, Stuart Lurie from Rosenthal, Lurie & Broudy, LLC, spoke of the financial health and success of the chamber in 2016. Lurie chose Jennifer Mack, Citadel Credit Union, as his pick for the Chairman’s Award for her outstanding commitment and dedication to the mission, vision and values of the chamber as the Chair of the Non-profit council and the Treasurer of the Executive Council. Stu then presented citations from the Chester County Commissioners office, from State Senator Andrew Dinnaman and Representative Becky Corbin.
The 2017 Chairman of the Board, Rob Nicolini of Clarke Nicolini and Associates, was then introduced and shared his vision of providing opportunities for member businesses to get new business while having fun. Nicolini, who is beginning his third time as Chair, emphasized that a chamber membership is an asset, not an expense, and is committed to making every luncheon an opportunity to develop relationships and business.
Rob Nicolini then thanked outgoing Board Members for their long Commitment to the Exton Chamber of Commerce as a board member for the past 6 years. Nancy Tuttle of Tuttle Marketing and former Chairperson of the Board, Michele Burkholder of The Burkholder Financial Group were happy to accept their plaque for their service and will continue to support the chamber on various committees.
Finally, Rob welcomed new Board Members, Rick Reigner of Lionville Community YMCA and Jennifer Smith from the Exton Square Mall. He closed the meeting with a charge to have as much member and guest involvement in luncheons moving forward.
