(Exton, PA) August 1, 2018 — The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the winners of their 2018 Annual Dinner Awards presented by DNB First. Recipients of the awards will be recognized for their positive impact on the region and their dedication to fostering a climate of economic prosperity and diversity.
The Harold Martin Leadership Award, intended to recognize a person from the Exton Region who has achieved a significant and acknowledged level of success in their career and who has demonstrated leadership and a long-standing, unselfish commitment to improving the quality of life in the Exton Region, will be awarded to Dr. Dolly Wideman-Scott, CEO of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. During the 22 years Dr. Wideman-Scott has led the organization, tens of thousands of people have been positively impacted as a direct result of the services received to break the cycle of domestic violence and move on to a positive and fulfilling life. She has presided over the lethality assessment program to provide trainings and procedures for police departments that can prevent domestic violence fatalities. Since its inception, hundreds of people have been screened into the program through the assessment and received services from the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. Many lives have been saved.
The Small Business Person of the Year Award will be given to Louis Oswald of Oswald Business Services for his contribution to the economy and vitality of the region. Through his ten years in business, Mr. Oswald grew the company from a “one-man show,” visiting construction sites to see if they needed cleanup, to a vibrant commercial cleaning service where millions of square feet of commercial office space and educational campuses are cleaned on a nightly basis. While his customers are in the Center City Philadelphia and the Philadelphia suburbs, his commitment to the Exton Region keeps his company headquartered in Exton. Because of the growing needs of the company, Oswald Building Services recently expanded its headquarters and warehouse space and became a partner with EZ Pizzi Cleaning to offer residential services in Chester County.
The Senator Robert J. Thompson Public Service Award, normally bestowed at the Annual dinner, will be given at the Annual Review Luncheon in January 2019 instead.
The 2018 Annual Dinner will take place on September 13th at the Desmond Malvern, a Double Tree Hilton, beginning at 5:00 PM. The keynote speaker is Philadelphia Eagles football legend and sports commentator Seth Joyner. Hear from a champion what it takes to be successful and reach your goals. Tickets are $100 per person and sponsorship opportunities available. Visit www.ercc.net to learn more about the event and purchase tickets—including early-bird pricing until August 10, 2018.
