Exton, PA- January 2019: The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2019 Annual Review Luncheon at the Downingtown Country Club to a sell-out crowd of Board Members, chamber members and non-members and elected officials to celebrate the accomplishments of 2018 and look forward to 2019.  The Chamber President, Laurie Kerkering, relayed the successes of the year and expressed excitement for the way the chamber is poised to meet the needs of growth in the region as it approached the 50th anniversary in 2022 and gratitude for the hard-working members of the chamber who support the mission.

Three Awards were presented to deserving individuals during the luncheon.  Matthew Holliday, Chester County Prothonotary, was awarded the Senator Robert S. Thompson Public Service Award for his distinguished service to all or a portion of the Exton Region.  Robin Meixner, Director of Development at Friends Association for Care and Protection of Children presented the award for the chamber, indicating his passion for his job serving residents of Chester County as well as his non-profit board involvement in the region. Laurie Kerkering presented the President’s Award to John Durso, Chief Retail Officer at First Resource Bank for his significant contribution to achieving the goals and objectives of the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce. Outgoing Chairman of the Board, Isaac Thomas from Francis Hall Insurance presented the Chairman Award to Jacqueline Motyl, Esquire, an associate attorney at Fox Rothschild. Isaac stressed her passionate involvement with the YPN Council, Non-Profit Council and the Board of Directors in her first year on the Board.

Mr. Thomas completed his time at the podium with gratitude for the hard-working board of directors and dedicated members committed to the success of the chamber despite the very lean staff.  He then introduced the new Chairperson of the Board Diana Mattingly of First Resource Bank.

Diana Mattingly’s first order of business was to thank Isaac for his commitment to the Chamber and for his guidance as she takes on her new role. She honored three Board members who have completed their terms with the Board of Directors, Matthew Matosky of Lionfield Technology, Stuart Lurie of Rosenthal Lurie and Broudy, who served as Chair in 2016, and Anthony Castrovillo of Universal Technical Institute and introduced the Board of Directors for 2019.

Finally, Diana asked the audience, made up mainly by members, “as we prepare for the quickly approaching 50th Anniversary of the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce in 2022, how will you contribute to its success?” and encouraged members to join councils and committees and make the most of their membership investment by getting involved.
