West Chester, PA – Monday night, hundreds of Chester County Community Foundation supporters converged at Whitford Country Club to sample the best-of-the-best created by Chester County’s finest dessert chefs. Attendees had the opportunity to try twelve different desserts while meeting and mingling throughout the club.
The chefs, as always, held nothing back for this prestigious competition. Contestants will spend months deliberating on what their original dessert would be, while others discover ways to put a twist on a classic. In the end, the professional culinary judges awarded “Best Dessert” to Gemelli Artisanal Gelato & Dessert Café for their innovation Sweet Nacho Sundae. “Most Creative” was awarded to John Serock Catering for the “Feel the Buzz” Gin & Tonic Macaron, a refreshing twist on a classic cocktail. Guests have a say in the judging as well, with the “Most Popular” dessert. Guests of the event voted The General Warren’s Chocolate Mocha Bombe, a delicious gluten-free indulgence, as their favorite.
Vice President of Philanthropy Services, Beth Harper Briglia, CPA, CAP, noted, “Sweet Charity presents a wonderful opportunity for the Chester County Community Foundation to bring together community members who make possible the mission of the Foundation to connect people who care with charitable causes that matter . We want to thank all of the wonderful restaurants who took the time and energy to contribute their fabulous desserts, as well as the patrons, sponsors and volunteers who made the evening a success.”
Over 60 corporations and leadership patrons helped make Sweet Charity a financial success, along with dessert donations, volunteer professional judges, and event volunteers.
