As we enter week five of the Pandemic, we learned that the Governor of PA has told us that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. Schools are looking to somehow plan Graduation Celebrations and do something special for the graduation class of 2020. This week we will be learning plans from state officials on slowly opening the economy back up. Late last week it was announced that the Paycheck Protection Program aid opened for sole proprietor ships and independent contractors. There is light at the end of the tunnel. We just need to keep strong and move forward as best we can.
As I continue to practice Self-care, I am trying to support our small local businesses as much as possible. I am trying to give back to our community by using my resources from the Exton Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Business Connection as well as Social Media Groups (Mom’s Advice). There are a few main things we can try to do to help our local small business:
- Buy Gift Certificates
- Shop online
- Buy Local Products and Services
- Order Take-out
- Donate to your local Business
I wanted to share some local businesses that have helped me this past week with my Self-care regimen.
1. Nothing Bundt Cakes – a nationwide, franchise, one located in Exton, PA. I met the owner, Patrycja Swan through the Exton Chamber of Commerce. I am a board member for my HOA. The rest of the board and I wanted to do something special for our neighbors during this difficult time. We wanted to find something to lift their spirits and help them celebrate their Passover and Easter Holiday. I worked closely with Patrycia to come up with a nice package for them. It was a hit! If you haven’t tried Nothing Bundt Cakes, you don’t know what your a missing. We highly recommend them for your next special occasion on just because.
2. The Brave Little Bow – These days, you may feel safer if you wear a mask when you go grocery shopping or out in a public place. I was referred to The Brave Little Bow owner, Sarah Smith through one of my Social Media Group pages (Mom’s Advice). Sarah began offering masks since the occurrence of the pandemic. She is located in West Chester, PA and you can arrange for pick up. They are reasonably priced and come in solid and patterns.
3. Gabrielsen’s Healing Center – my sister introduced me to Cathy Gabrielsen during a challenging time in my life. She has helped me tremendously and now offering free Small Group Energy Healing sessions remotely through Zoom. Energy healing will clear, balance and recharge your chakras. The healing can include Spiritual Guidance and other Shamanic based healing. She is in West Chester, PA.
4. Arbonne Makeup – these days we are all using Zoom and other Social Media for meetings and I wanted to share with you the clean eye shadow pallet that I fell in love with from Arbonne. Love the neutral colors that give you a pop of color and the sense of feeling good about yourself. I was introduced to this clean line of make-up through my good friend, Nina Malone also a member of the Women’s Business Connection.
